Bumble Tales is a match 3 game developed by Tandem Games and Perfect Dork Studios. It tells the story of some lively creatures called Bumbles, who look like a mixture of Russian dolls and those inflatable punching toys. Bumbles are building their own town, Springleton, and need your help to gather the necessary resources for the construction. Your objective is to help them collect resources and earn money to build their town and populate it with buildings, schools, houses, pets, and, most importantly, people. Or in this case, Bumbles.
Through a series of match 3 levels, you need to swap blocks and create chains of at least three blocks of the same type to collect money. At every level there is a number of resources you need to collect (like wood, gold, plants). Once you gather all the resources required, you will get money (and depending on your performance trophies too) to buy Bumbles and buildings to populate Springleton. From the shop you can buy different types of buildings, schools, police stations, tennis courts, greenhouses, etc., and also Bumbles. These greenish creatures have a personality of their own that is described in the Scrapbook. Also, each Bumble will give you different bonuses to help you complete the match 3 levels faster, the same as buildings, which come packed with a variety of powers. You can choose any Bumble to assist you during your game, and this creature will make comments as you play, like in a football match.
Two game modes are available; one, and by far the most fun one, is the story mode, where you get to know every character and its story in details. You can also play the arcade mode, which gives your match 3 puzzles with a time limit.
The graphics in Bumble Tales are amazing, very lively and colorful, and so is the music, setting up just the right mood for the story. As you progress, it is really nice to see the town coming to life and the tiny Bumbles wandering around the streets of Springleton.
